In RPG Maker, how do I make the screen scroll along with the character remaining centered as you walk?

Doesn’t RPG Maker do this already when the map is larger than the screen? If you wanted to achieve this effect, one would think you’d simply need to design your maps as one large map, rather than a bunch of small ones.
