How do you make an RPG with free programs?

I got the response, Create your own defense "of the tower, but I wanted one where you could start from scratch, just generate and encode your own programs. But, really, I want an RPG. Not done with one of those "cheese; Create your own" games, but with my own. And for free. XD how can I do that?

download Microsoft visual basic, it’s an easy programming sometimes used fro games, then you can move the dark basic, which is harder. The really cool games you see like half life and portal and fable and… stuff are made with cpp (C plus plus) you can download it, and also try dark GDK it’s specifically for game making,it’s another form of cpp, I’ve seen people make mega games with it, and yes visual basic can make RPGs, I have a book on it actually, Visual Basic Game Programing for teens, and Game Programing for teens By Maneesh Sethi, these are good books, Maneesh Sethi wrote a book about Blitz Basic which is what Game Programming is… sorry there’s no “Program for Making a killer rpg like fable” RPG Maker has a virus.
