What is the longest running computer RPG franchise?

RPG
MannPower asked:

Because I find all my answers to my questions on Google or Wikipedia, I calculated I 'd asked something that has known the answer - just to see if anyone gets to the right. As an exhibition game. What is the longest current concession game computer attitude (RPG) and possibly the start of the land grant longest of all time? UPDATE: It's not Metal Gear, that is a series of action stealth action. The tibia was freed in 1996, more than a decade after the first installment of series of RPG running longer. Resident evil is a series of horror surivival, not an RPG. The Legend of Zelda is old, but old enough I forgot to kingdoms games began as pencil-and-paper and didn 't provide the realm of computer games until the late 80s, shot a few years. Silent hill is not an RPG. WINNER! I have to wait 4 hours to choose the best answer, but the "sgoldperson" is correct, the series is the last grant of RPG running longer, starting in 1979 with 'Akalabeth' at present, with Ultima Online. I 'M so glad no one said Final Fantasy, I don 't consider it an RPG. I consider Final Fantasy game Turn-Based Strategy, which follows a cast of characters. In order to see my farneticamento about my dislike of Final Fantasy (if you 're really interested in something that is to say), go here: http://mannpower.livejournal.com/31939.html

Well if you mean still running if I am not mistaken it would proably be Ultima. It still runs through Ultima Online if I am not mistaken, maybe that isn’t up anymore, and heck that is an OLD franchise.

I think it is The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

I have the game and I completed it all, its a very long game.
There’s the main mission then side missions then missions which you can compete for people.
Also now an expansion for it came out which make the game even longer.
