Yes, up to 4 players can play on a single console, due to the turn-by-turn concept.

No, it’s for all kinds of gamers. It’s fun when you get past the incredibly steep learning curve, but that’s if you don’t throw it up against the wall first. Don’t be fooled by the little candy tanks and cartoony graphics. It’s hard. If you can win with your eyes tied behind your back, congratulations. But for the average gamer, Advance Wars is simply too hard to be readily fun.

Its actually based off of famicom wars from waaaaay back when, but maybe that series is also based off of fire emblem too, not sure.

I play this game on my psp using the GBA emulator. Amazing game like the first one. I prefer the new one because of course, it is “new” compared to the old one but still great

acepilotf14 @ 12:37 pm

Well yeah, and the whole time period difference. If it were swords or guns, I’d prefer guns. :D

You do know that this game was based off of the old snes game Fire Emblem, don’t you? It has the same exact battle strategy but without capturing, your “CO” is pretty much the same throughout the whole game and they actually fight, if a unit dies, you can’t get a new one of them until you recruit another, and many other differences but it’s still based on that game just because of the one country attacking the rest of the world and everyone joining to take down the one country.

Not sure about this game.
I already have it. Bought it last year.
I remember playing the first few missions, getting over the fact that the graphics were just plain crap but with the gameplay and strategy it wasn’t about the graphics. I began to think of it as a different kind of ‘chess’. With that in mind, I began to enjoy it -to a point. I put the game down after a few missions with the intention of coming back to it, but never did. Other games, better games, took my attention away from it.

WTF will he stop going on about how it’s innovative. AW1 was Super Famicon wars 5, basically, and they added 2 new units with AW2. WOW.
The game is a complete regurgitation, that’s what makes it so amazing. That’s what I WANT from AW because it’s bloody excellent. Innovation my ass.

The multiplayer experience is awesome with this game. If you ever get in a situation where you have a lot of time without having anything to do like a long travel with your friends, this game will eat through time like it was nothing.
